Reach New Players with a FUN Day for High School Students

We all understand that the best way to get a friend to try a new activity is to give them the information they need to feel comfortable participating and personally invite them. High School Paintball Day is a day for fields around the country to offer an age-targeted, FUN playing experience where high school students get to play paintball with other high school students. Empire and the NCPA have teamed up to provide a national promotional campaign, incentives for current players to invite their friends to try paintball, and the information, tools and materials to make inviting new players to play easy and successful.

How do you host a High School Paintball Day?

  • Sign up here (HSPBDay uses the APPA Registration System)
  • Add NCPA, Inc. and Kee Action Sports as additional insured to your insurance policy for the event, and mail or fax confirmation to:NCPA Inc

  • Once your sign-up and insurance confirmation are received, you will be added to the online registration system which will open to players on August 1.
  • Promote the event locally. You will be sent flyers and 3×5 cards promoting the event that can be handed out at your field or given to players at your field to hand out to their friends.
  • In the week prior to September 25, monitor the number of players signed up to play at your location on the HSPBDay website. On September 24, print a list of paid players from the HSPD website, and copies of sign-up forms for players who sign up at your field day of play.
  • On September 25, play paintball! Make sure participants HAVE FUN. Have players who sign up day-of-play fill out the HSPBDay sign-up form.
  • By September 29, input any players who signed up at your field on September 25 to the HSPD site.
  • On October 1, the NCPA will mail you a check for all participants paid through the HSPBDay.com website.
  • Increase Revenue by Accepting HSPD Gift Certificates (See Below for More Info)

What are the requirements to participate?

You must:

  • Operate an insured, recreational paintball facility that offers at least 25 equipment rental packages
  • On Saturday, September 25, operate a “private” group for HSPBDay participants, including High School students, their parents, their faculty, and younger siblings (age 10+)
  • Provide each player with admission, air fills, 500 paintballs, and if necessary, a rental package (mask, gun, hopper, tank)

The focus is on FUN!

To help keep HSPBDay a low-intensity and FUN experience for new players, we would like to discourage players from using more than 500 paintballs during HSPBDay.

Accepting Advance Payments at your Store or Field

Some participants may not want to or may not be able to pay their registration fee online. Beginning August 1, you will be able to process payments for HSPBDay registrations for your field through the HSPBDay website. Log in and enter the player’s information and the system will quote you the correct price for the player:

  • Rental with no invite code: $49
  • Rental with invite code: $44
  • No Rental with no invite code: $44
  • No Rental with invite code: $39

Once the player’s information is entered and you have collected their payment, simply mark them as paid in the system.

HSPBDay Player Captains

One of the key components to the success of High School Paintball Day is leveraging current paintball players to invite new players out to play on HSPBDay. Empire and the NCPA will conduct a national promotional campaign to recruit ‘HSPBDay Captains’. Captains will be able to sign up on the HSPBDay website starting August 1. Each Captain will select the location they will play at, and then be given a control panel where they can send electronic invitations to their friends as well as print invitations to hand out in person. Each electronic and printed invitation will include general information about paintball and specific information about the location as well as an invite code that entitles the bearer to $5 off their entry price. For each invite code a Captain’s friend redeems, the captain will earn $5.

HSPBDay Gift Certificates

To maximize the impact of the program in promoting paintball in general and in driving additional revenue to participating dealers specifically, the incentives earned will only be redeemable as gift certificates for use with participating HSPBDay dealers and on NCPA entry fees. If redeemed with a dealer, the entire value of the HSPBDay gift certificate will be reimbursed to the dealer by the NCPA. Thus the certificates serve as a strong incentive for players to return to play at your facility, and you gain additional revenue when they do so.

Certificates will be available to players to print out from the HSPBDay website about one week after HSPBDay concludes. Certificate value expires Sept. 30, 2011. Players can print certificates for any value up to their remaining balance, but certificates are non-transferable and include the player’s name and a unique identifier number. To redeem a certificate presented to you, verify the player’s name matches the certificate and simply log in to the HSPBDay website and enter the certificate number and the value of the certificate will be credited to your HSPBDay account. The NCPA will send out a check for any balance over $50 on the first of every even-numbered month and a check for any remaining balance on October 1, 2011. You may also request that any balance be sent to you anytime by check ($3 processing fee applies) or by Paypal (No fee charged by NCPA, but fees may be charged by Paypal.)
